The year 2019 marked the 23rd year of production of the Proof Platinum American Eagle series. The U.S Mint continued its Preamble Series with the "Liberty" coin. In 2019 the Mint struck 11,268 one-ounce proof Platinum American Eagles which represented nearly a 25% decrease in overall mintage when compared to the previous year. Less than 14% of the coins struck have received the perfect PF70 grade by NGC.
