The one-quarter ounce Gold Eagle saw the second largest decline with a 38% drop in production which is a near record low. This was the second largest drop in mintage across all denominations. The mint produced a total of 38,000 $10 Gold Eagles and less than 2% of coins in the population have been given the perfect grade of 70 by PCGS, making this piece a key date for your collection. Lastly, this coin has been designated as "First Day of Issue" by PCGS. To qualify for First Day of Issue, coins must be purchased within one day of the first day that a mint makes a new coin issue available for sale and must be received by PCGS or an PCGS-approved depository within one week of the release date.
