If you have been searching for one of the hardest to find Platinum Eagle, make sure to take a hard look at this 2007 $50 Platinum Eagle. The Platinum American Eagle was first minted in 1997 and it is the only investment-grade Platinum coin made by the U.S. Mint. In 2007, the Mint produced a record low number of half-ounce Platinum Eagles with only 7,001 pieces produced. Platinum is a very soft metal that can scratch easily and is sometimes hard to get perfect grades of 70, especially with lower mintages. Only 38 pieces have received the perfect grade of 70 by PCGS. The obverse and reverse are perfectly struck which captivates the eye. This is a beautiful example and is a key date to any collection.
The coin(s) featured is an example of the piece we have in stock. The coin(s) you receive may have a different certification number than pictured. Coins that are in PCGS/NGC protective holders will all have a label protected within the holder that will indicate the coin's certification number, grade, date, denomination, and unique bar code.
